Swimming pool repair & relining

Swimming pool relining is important in order to ensure the safety of your customers. Repair work is a great way to avoid incurring those larger more costly problems that could close your pool down for a period of time. SA Pool Systems pool refurbishment service and maintenance offers reliable pool relining services to commercial and private customers so that you can keep your pool in top condition all year round.

Your pool’s lining is important as it forms a barrier between the wall of the pool and the water inside of it. Many inground pools have tiled walls that eliminate the need for a liner. Pools that feature a vinyl pool liner also have a layer of foam cushioning that forms a buffer between the liner and the pool wall. FAQs about swimming pool refurbishments & relining

Below you will find answers to common questions about swimming pool refurbishments.

Q. How often should you refurbish your pool?

A. There is no set time when a swimming pool will need refurbishment. Variables such as where the pool is located and volume of use will impact the time period before a refurbishment is required. On average pools in the UK need to be resurfaced around every 10 -15 years. This will allow the pool to have more longevity.

Q. What happens to a pool if it is not refurbished?

A. If a pool is not refurbished it will be more likely to become damaged and be a potential hazard to anyone that uses it. Pools can develop an uneven surface over a number of years alongside cracks and leaks which can lead to potential issues.

Q. How long will it take to refurbish my pool?

A. The amount of time it takes to refurbish a pool depends on the extent of work performed. Pools that are being re-plastered can be completed in 3-5 days and afterwards be operational for around 10 days. Pools that require a more in-depth refurbish including the pool flooring or a complete remodel may take longer. Be assured that when a project commences SA Pools will make every effort to consistently move the job along and complete your project in a timely manner.

Q. How do you know when it’s time to refurbish a pool?

A. Your pool is very helpful at showing signs of when it needs a little bit of TLC. Some of the signs to look out for include plaster flaking or peeling, cracks and surface stains including rust and discolouration. These are all signals that it might be time to refurbish your pool.

Q. How to tell if your pool needs relining

A. When your pool is due for relining, you’ll usually be able to tell. Rough surfaces, flaking or peeling plaster, and discoloured tiles indicate deteriorating materials.

You might also notice rust and cracks throughout the feature. These problems will only worsen as time goes on. If you notice any of the above issues, resurfacing will ensure you can enjoy your pool for years to come.
